SMICS is supporting a Specialised Oncology Care and Research of the Elderly (SOCARE) pilot project with Monash Health Oncology Department.  Dr Ranjana Srivastava is the project lead.

The project aims to ensure that older adults with cancer are effectively assessed to determine their fitness for cancer treatment, their supportive care needs are identified and that targeted individualised interventions for treatment are developed.
