Multidisciplinary care

Multidisciplinary cancer care involves a collaborative, prospective team approach to treatment planning and care provision for people affected by cancer, from the time of initial diagnosis through to follow-up or end of life care.
SMICS Multidisciplinary Care Strategic Plan 2011-2014 outlines  SMICS vision for multidisciplinary care.  There are three priorities for SMICs multidisciplinary care improvement activities:
  1. Multidisciplinary cancer care will be person–centred
  2. Multidisciplinary cancer care will be accessible
  3. Multidisciplinary cancer care will be coordinated
